Finally!!!, Starbucks Bacolod Opens
Publish date: December 8, 2008 10:28 pm | Tags: Starbucks Bacolod Opens
Its wonderful to be one of the chosen few to be invited in the opening of Starbucks Bacolod. I was so excited when my sister told me that she will bring me along with her. So i really prepared myself for this event. This is history and I’m part of it. Prominent people were there. Topping the list is Mr. Ed Lopez- the President of Rustans Coffee Corp, Mr. Butch Lopez, Starbucks staff from manila and the Governor. Its nice to know that Mr. Ed Lopez is so happy that he even said that ” It makes him proud that starbucks is finally in his hometown, Bacolod”. Tomorrow, December 9, 2008, they will open their doors to the public. They will open at 6am until 12 midnight. See you there tomorrow…enjoy Bacolod!!! you deserve starbucks.

I was there last December 25 to Jan2. I was there everyday. The Baristas were not as friendly as the ones we have here in Manila. I’m a Bacoleño but based in Manila by the way. As you may know Starbucks is known for their coffee but they’re popular for their baristas but that is not the case in Bacolod. Their Baristas were looking down on some customers who didn’t know what Tall, Grande and Venti are. Nakibot lang ang isa ka barista when my friends and I knew what to order and we had some other extra shots and kung ano na pa cheche bureche for our coffee. Daw makadlaw lang ko sg ang isa ka barista indi sure if pwede ang order ko… which is pwede… pero I’m happy my Starbucks naman sa Bacolod ah…di lang tani magyabang ang mga barista.

HI Jane!
I am an Ilonggo and a great fan of Starbucks. Evrytime i go to Cebu (or Manila), Starbucks has always been my first choice. i always hang out at SM Northwing, Asiatown and Ayala Terraces na Starbz. The last time i had coffee there was during Sinulog and no doubt, Vanilla Cream Frappe has always been my favorite. Anyways, you were saying that Starbucks will be opening in Iloilo, that’s really good news. Is it in SM City? I saw some demolition guys lately in the proposed Starbucks area outside of SM Iloilo. And the proposed area is already cleared now. Just would like to confirm if the area where some coffee shops used operate (Langford, etc. etc.) is really the area where Starbucks will rise? If not, where do you think would it be?

I recently had a chat with somebody from starbucks, they really have plans of putting up a store in iloilo but thats after SB Boracay. SM was suppose to be the location of SB iloilo but the deal was not closed for some reasons.

Yeah i’ve heard. the construction is currently ongoing in Mito’s Place. Starbucks is located in station 1. Wow, so it’s gonna take a while for Iloilo to have their own Starbucks. I have also heard from a very reliable source that Gloria Jeans has already signed a deal and they are opening in Robinsons Place. I can smell good competition here. And Krispy Kreme might enter Iloilo. I know Bacolod has their GJ in Casino Filipino.

Its good to know that you will be having GJ soon. Bacolod’s GJ is located in casino flipino hotel. They’re having a great time there…hehehehe. Krispy kreme is not final yet about their expansion. but if they will push through then candidates will be iloilo and bacolod. lets expect more for Bacolod and iloilo this year. go twin cities of WV!!!
