The New Bacolod Government Center
The City’s dream to have its own Government Center is now a reality. Standing majestically in a 5 hectares lot along circumferential road, east of Bacolod ( few meters from Lopues east), the New Government Center is now the pride of every Bacolodnon. A maginificent architecture blossomed in the midst of the vast sugarcane fields which symbolizes strength and power.

The blessing ceremony was officiated by no less than the Papal Nuncio himself, Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams on August 4, 2008. With its grand design, it already attracted more tourists and locals. NGC also welcomed the Delegates of the 3rd LCP Negros Caravan during their visit here in Bacolod on August 27, 2008. The Delegates toured around the facility and greeted with fireworks display and a performance of Brgy. Alijis Masskara Dancers. Recently, Bacolod’s 70th Charter Day Program was held at the New Government Center with DILG. Sec. Ricardo Puno as the guestspeaker. Puno said that “Bacolod has gone far beyond its border” and “gone far ahead in terms of developments”.
The New Government Center is now ready to take a stand. By the year ends, it will be opened to the public and will serve millions of people. This Structure will remind every Bacolodnon that we are back on track. Mayor Evelio Leonardia even said, “Bacolod has come a long way. From a city struggling to deliver basic services to its people to expanding growth centers with infrastructure and social services support to what it is today. We all can see for ourselves how far indeed we have grown since 1938,” NGC will defintely open more opportunities for Bacolod and this will give us all the reasons to smile through the years.

well don’t worry sooner those lots will be converted to commercial buildings and hotels and maybe malls will start popping out in that area and also the connection from bacolod-silay airport is now under construct to connect in the circumferential road, so it will be more easier soon for commuters. Wishing bacolod the best!

I would rather like it if the area is surrounded by sugar canes than commercial buildings or hotels or malls….if there are plantations around people would appreciate the sight more than seeing commercial buildings and malls…..
